Singer D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her decomposed body was discovered in a seemingly abandoned Tesla that was registered to him, parked in the Hollywood Hills. The 20-year-old alt-pop artist from Houston is currently being held without bail, as confirmed by the Los Angeles police.
Authorities have announced plans to present evidence regarding the case to the District Attorney’s Office for potential charges. D4vd had been under scrutiny from a grand jury in Los Angeles County related to Hernandez’s death. Although details of the investigation were kept confidential, it was disclosed on February 25 that Burke was identified as a target, following objections filed by his family in a Texas court regarding subpoenas for their testimony.
As of now, representatives for D4vd have not responded to inquiries from The Associated Press regarding the situation. The investigation continues as detectives work diligently to establish the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
