Two individuals have been charged following a series of alleged shootings in public areas in Sydney’s south-west. Authorities suspect these attacks, which targeted two homes yesterday, were orchestrated by a criminal organisation based in the city.

One of the properties, located on Fairmont Street in Merrylands, belongs to Raf Alammedine, who is purportedly the head of a criminal outfit. The second target was a residence on Woodstock Road in Guilford, owned by Adam Al Ahmad; Adam’s brother, Assad, is also reportedly involved with the Alammedine crime group.

Soon after the incidents, police spotted a black Range Rover travelling on Woodville Road in Merrylands. When this vehicle failed to pull over, a pursuit ensued but was eventually called off. The Range Rover was later discovered abandoned on Alexander Street, Fairfield. Following this, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man nearby after conducting a search of the area.

The police claim to have seized firearms and two jerry cans during their investigation. Additionally, a stolen white SUV was located on Portadown Road in Constitution Hill, with both vehicles now held for forensic examination. A separate raid at a property on Percy Street in Fairfield resulted in further items being confiscated by law enforcement.

Both suspects face charges related to firearm offences and engaging in organised crime activities. The older male has also been charged with dangerous driving. The 17-year-old has been denied bail and is expected to appear before a children’s court, while the 21-year-old similarly faces court proceedings today. The investigation by police is still ongoing.
