A significant crime scene has been established outside a large comic convention in Melbourne after a car reportedly sped into a crowd. Emergency services responded swiftly to the incident at the intersection of Langs Road and Epsom Road in Ascot Vale, adjacent to the Melbourne Showgrounds, shortly after 5pm.
The venue was hosting the Supanova Comic Con, attracting thousands of attendees at the time of the incident. Eyewitnesses recounted seeing a vehicle driving “at speed” towards a gathering of people, characterising the scene as “chaotic.”
Victoria Police have been approached for additional information regarding the situation.
