A significant crime scene has been established outside a large comic convention in Melbourne following reports of a car driving into a crowd. Emergency services responded to the incident at the junction of Langs Road and Epsom Road in Ascot Vale, near the Melbourne Showgrounds, shortly after 5pm.
The venue was hosting Supanova Comic Con, which attracted a large number of attendees. Eyewitnesses recounted seeing a vehicle speeding towards a gathering of people, describing the scene as “chaotic”.
Victoria Police has been approached for further comment regarding the incident.
