Emergency services were dispatched to Karreman Quarries on West Mount Cotton Road in Sheldon, approximately 30 kilometres from Brisbane, at around 2:20 pm yesterday, following reports of a serious forklift accident involving a man. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by a representative from Resources, Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) today.
In a statement, the spokesperson expressed condolences, saying, “Our thoughts are with the worker’s family, friends and colleagues at this time.” An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway, and due to the ongoing nature of this inquiry, no further details can be released at this stage.
