A 25-year-old man, Blaise McIntyre, is accused of fatally stabbing his 47-year-old mother, Rebecca, at their Windale home in Lake Macquarie. The incident occurred at 8pm, and the police are currently investigating the motive behind the alleged attack, noting that Blaise has no prior record of violent behaviour.

According to reports, it is alleged that Blaise repeatedly attacked his mother, resulting in severe injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics to revive her, Rebecca succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

In a concerning turn of events, Blaise reportedly placed a call to emergency services himself after the incident. Law enforcement officials have noted that prior to this tragic event, there was no history of domestic violence associated with him. They have since confiscated a knife from the residence as part of their investigation.

Following the stabbing, Blaise was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains under police supervision. He faces charges of domestic violence murder.

Friends and neighbours of Rebecca have expressed their shock over the incident, describing her as a kind and loving person who always greeted others with a smile. Superintendent Tracy Chapman from NSW Police confirmed to the media that the investigations are ongoing as they piece together the events leading up to this tragic occurrence.
