Mitch Barnett’s move to the Brisbane Broncos has been officially confirmed, with Grant Anderson heading to the Warriors as part of the deal. Barnett, who departed the New Zealand Warriors due to compassionate grounds, has signed a three-year contract with the Broncos, contingent on the Warriors receiving a player in return.
Anderson, previously acquired by the Broncos from Melbourne earlier in the pre-season, will transfer to the Warriors despite having a contract that extends until the end of 2027. His agreement with the Warriors will also span three years, providing him with enhanced security.
Broncos recruitment chief Simon Scanlan commended Anderson for his contributions to the club and expressed eagerness for his return to the field. “Grant has been a significant asset to the team and has embraced our culture and standards,” he stated.
The Warriors’ coach, Andrew Webster, is enthusiastic about welcoming Anderson to the squad, noting his experience and the depth he brings to the back line.
