Prince Harry has made a notable visit to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra during the second day of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Australian tour, arriving from Melbourne. Dressed in his military service medals, he took part in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander memorial ceremony at the site. As part of the event, he laid a wreath and participated in a traditional Indigenous smoking ceremony.
Additionally, Harry engaged with Indigenous veterans and planned to attend the Last Post ceremony, reflecting his deep ties to the Invictus Games. Earlier that day in Melbourne, he visited Whitten Oval, where he interacted with players from the Western Bulldogs and connected with local young fans, including members of The Wiggles.
During an inner event tied to Movember, Harry discussed his mental health journey, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and the impact of fatherhood. He received jerseys from the Western Bulldogs featuring the names of his children, Archie and Lilibet, which delighted the fans who had gathered to catch a glimpse of him, even though he entered and left quietly without public interaction.
Despite Meghan not participating in public engagements that day, Harry is expected to return to Melbourne for a combined public appearance with her by the Yarra River, where both will partake in a guided cultural walk. This event is anticipated to present a significant opportunity for the public to see the couple together.
