The tremor generated minor to light shaking that was felt as far as Sydney and Wollongong, prompting over 1,000 individuals to report their experiences within just 30 minutes of the occurrence.

One dog trainer located in Mudgee, about 100 kilometres northeast of the earthquake’s epicentre, described how her pet reacted to the quake. She noted that while humans in her vicinity didn’t notice the tremor, one of her older dogs became anxious, looking around as if disturbed by something beneath her.
