Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that he had been quietly treated for prostate cancer during a recent announcement about his annual health examination results. The 76-year-old leader, who is the longest-serving Prime Minister in Israel’s history, stated that he delayed disclosing his medical report for two months to prevent it from being exploited as political propaganda by Iran.

Netanyahu underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate in December 2024, an operation made public at the time. In his latest health update, he disclosed that a malignant tumour, measuring less than one centimetre, was found in his prostate. To substantiate his statement, the Prime Minister’s Office shared letters from his medical team noting that the cancer was detected at an early stage and had not spread.

While the exact timing of the diagnosis remains undisclosed, reports suggest that the cancer was identified several months ago, and Netanyahu began radiation therapy about two and a half months prior to his announcement. He has since completed the treatment, claiming that the tumour has now disappeared entirely.

Expressing gratitude, Netanyahu stated on social media, “Thank God, I am healthy,” and described the matter as a minor medical issue that has been thoroughly addressed.
