A significant fire broke out this morning at the popular Club Med Bali resort, located in the Nusa Dua area of Bali, around 7am local time (9am AEDT). The flames engulfed the upper level of the resort’s main restaurant, with eyewitnesses capturing dramatic footage of substantial flames and thick plumes of black smoke rising from the building.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries stemming from the incident. Michelle Davies, the general manager for Club Med Pacific, assured that all guests and staff had been safely evacuated. She emphasised the resort’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of everyone on the premises, stating, “We can confirm that everyone was brought to safety and that no guests or staff members have been impacted.”

The fire has since been extinguished, and resort operations have resumed on a limited scale while evaluations of the affected areas, specifically the main restaurant, boutique, and excursion facilities, are underway. Davies expressed gratitude for the understanding and support shown by guests and partners during this unfortunate event, promising that updates would be shared as the situation develops.

Club Med Bali is part of a renowned chain of high-end, all-inclusive resorts, attracting many tourists and families to the island. The resort boasts nearly 400 guest rooms and has been a popular destination for visitors seeking a luxurious holiday experience in Bali.
