In Melbourne, alarming events transpired yesterday on an inner-city street as a group of masked youths allegedly executed a violent attack using poles, a machete, and a sledgehammer in broad daylight. CCTV footage captured the gang, clad in balaclavas, hanging from the sunroof of a car driving down Bay Street in Port Melbourne just before the incident occurred.
It’s reported that the group was in search of specific targets. Upon halting the vehicle, several individuals, including one armed with a large knife, exited and began their pursuit. Police received calls around 3:15 PM regarding the assault occurring on Lalor Street, situated only a short distance away.
Witness accounts describe the gang of six hooded attackers chasing and violently assaulting two young individuals with a pole and a machete. A tradesman, who attempted to intervene by throwing a sledgehammer, recounted that one of the attackers seized it and wielded it as a weapon during the altercation.
