Shaky video footage from within a shipping container has captured significant public attention following its release by a YouTuber, now under investigation for trespassing. These clips reveal the interior of the container, providing a unique glimpse into the haven of Dezi Freeman, a man accused of killing two police officers.

This shipping container, situated on a sprawling 35-hectare property in Victoria’s High Country, contains signs that suggest someone had been living there. Among the various items scattered about, one can see shirts believed to have belonged to Freeman, as well as an overturned boat outside, which bears bullet holes from a recent police shootout that resulted in his death.

Inside, the container is cluttered with cushions, boxes, and personal effects including blankets, Ugg boots, and a makeshift heater, indicating habitation. There’s also a collection of objects like methylated spirits, a notepad, and a stick blender, which give insight into Freeman’s life in hiding. Notably, one wall has a large hole, allegedly created by police during an attempt to gas Freeman out.

The video, posted by The Chaos Chronicles on April 16, has garnered over 60,000 views. It raises questions not only about Freeman’s living conditions but also about the circumstances surrounding such a violent confrontation with the police. Following the video’s release, Victoria Police confirmed they are looking into the trespass report associated with the filming.

The uploader claimed he was initially observing from a drone, but when it crashed on the property, he felt it necessary to retrieve it, citing concerns about a potential fire risk due to dry conditions. His exploration led to the footage being shared online, where he suggested it provided a more immersive experience than the drone’s view.

Freeman is alleged to have killed Police Senior Constables Neal Thompson and Vadim de Waart-Hottart during an incident last August in Porepunkah, sparking a manhunt that ended with his own death last month. An inquest into the events surrounding his actions and demise is yet to be scheduled, leaving many unanswered questions about the tragic turn of events that unfolded.
