At approximately 2pm, a collision occurred near the Stud Road off ramp, resulting in significant injuries and multiple hospitalisations. Five individuals were transported to medical facilities following the incident, including a boy and an adult woman from one of the vehicles, both of whom are reported to be in critical condition. The boy was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital, while the woman, in her forties, was admitted to The Alfred, both suffering from upper body injuries. In response to the accident, all outbound lanes and one inbound lane of the Monash Freeway have been closed, and police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
