During a live interview on CNBC on Tuesday, Donald Trump addressed questions regarding the ceasefire relating to Iran. When asked if he would extend the ceasefire if positive developments emerged from the upcoming round of negotiations, Trump dismissed the idea, stating, "Well, I don’t want to do that. We don’t have that much time." He reiterated that Iran must engage in meaningful negotiations, emphasizing that they "had a choice."

The exact timeline for the ceasefire’s expiration remained ambiguous. While the initial deadline was set for Tuesday night, Trump informed Bloomberg News that the ceasefire would actually conclude on Wednesday night.

In a segment of the interview on the program Squawk Box, Trump was probed about the potential resumption of military strikes if the Islamabad talks do not yield progress. He responded, “Well, I expect to be bombing because I think that’s a better attitude to go in with,” which indicates his readiness to take action. Furthermore, he expressed confidence in military readiness, saying, "The military is raring to go."
