A concerned mother is searching for answers after her 12-year-old son, Nathaniel, had a terrifying experience on a school bus in Melbourne. On March 16, while returning home from school in Wheelers Hill, Nathaniel became trapped as the automatic doors closed on his bag. Disturbing CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the boy being dragged approximately 350 metres along the road while attempting to lift his knees to avoid scraping against the pavement.

The footage has since been shared by his mother on Instagram, highlighting the alarming situation where Nathaniel’s arm and bag got caught. She has called for immediate safety improvements to prevent similar occurrences in the future, expressing that public transport should ensure the safety of all children. In her post, she passionately stated, “Our children deserve to travel safely on public transport. No one’s life should be put in such danger on their buses.”

The incident has drawn significant attention, prompting inquiries to Ventura Bus Lines and the Victoria Department of Transport for comments regarding the safety measures in place. As the community rallies around Nathaniel and his family, supporters hope that this incident will lead to essential changes, ensuring a safer environment for young passengers.
