Australia is poised to host an unprecedented auction featuring the largest Lego collection in the country, with bidding commencing at a mere $1 for an impressive array of thousands of sets. This extraordinary collection comprises one million individual pieces and is valued at approximately $250,000. It has been lovingly curated by a woman from Brisbane over the span of nearly 50 years, initially as a therapeutic endeavour that blossomed into a cherished hobby.

The collector is now eager to share her passion with other Lego enthusiasts across Australia. Among the most coveted items are rare sets that could fetch tens of thousands of dollars, including the iconic Imperial Star Destroyer from the Star Wars series and the stunning model of Rome’s Colosseum. Additionally, fans of beloved franchises will find sets themed around Harry Potter, Marvel, and Disney, alongside historical replicas like the White House and a vintage typewriter.

Rachael McCann from Lloyd’s Auctions pointed out that this collection is not only a remarkable piece of Australian history but could potentially be one of the largest collections to be auctioned as a single lot from one vendor globally. Bidding is currently open and will continue through six unreserved online auctions until April 20.

This auction presents a unique chance for collectors and fans alike to acquire rare pieces that illustrate both popular culture and historical significance.
