Turinui praised Lomax’s awareness at the breakdown, particularly highlighting a moment in the 61st minute where he demonstrated impressive technique and positioning: “That reaction… that’s the best thing he did,” Turinui commented, noting the importance of Lomax’s decision-making in maintaining a strong ruck presence.

Force coach Simon Cron explained that Lomax was initially meant to enter the game sooner but was delayed due to a gastro outbreak affecting other team members. Cron regretted missing opportunities to maximise Lomax’s involvement, saying, “He didn’t get much opportunity today…so he’ll be disappointed he didn’t get a lot of ball.” Nevertheless, Cron remains optimistic about Lomax’s progression, emphasising the need for the team to integrate him more effectively moving forward.
