A note allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein, discovered by a fellow inmate, has recently been released to the public after a judge ruled in favour of unsealing it following a request from the New York Times. The note has been held in secrecy for years within court archives. It contains phrases like, “They investigated me for months — FOUND NOTHING!!!” and “It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye.”

This note is written on a torn piece of yellow legal pad paper and has not yet been officially verified as Epstein’s handwriting. According to the court’s findings, the note is dated over a week before his death. The judge decided to make it public, citing that a deceased person’s privacy, such as Epstein’s, holds little weight.

In the weeks leading up to his passing, Epstein had denied prior suicide attempts, claiming that injuries on his neck were the result of assaults by another inmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, a former police officer serving multiple life sentences for murder. Despite suspicions surrounding Epstein’s demise, Tartaglione has consistently stated he did not harm Epstein and provided the note to his legal representative to avoid further allegations against him.

The note’s release was officially sanctioned after agreement from Tartaglione’s legal team and the attorneys involved in his case. It was not included in the yet unpublished Epstein files and has not been addressed in formal inquiries into his death. At the time of his passing, Epstein was facing serious charges related to the trafficking of minors.

Epstein’s death has sparked numerous theories and speculation over the circumstances, and his connection to various high-profile individuals has compounded public intrigue. The release of this note adds another layer to an already controversial narrative.
