Police were alerted to vandalism in Fitzroy Gardens around 2am by security patrols. Authorities suspect that two individuals were responsible for spray-painting Captain Cook’s cottage and trying to decapitate a nearby statue. This bronze statue had only recently been repaired and reinstated to its original location, less than two weeks prior. In their investigation, detectives have obtained nearby CCTV footage to help identify the suspects involved in this act of vandalism.
