Two additional men have been charged in connection with the stabbing death of Ruka Carlson, a father of six, near a nightclub in Melbourne on April 20. The 30-year-old was fatally injured after being pursued, assaulted, and stabbed on Chapel Street, Prahran, during the early hours of that morning.
Previously, one man, aged 35, from Sydney, faced charges for murder, affray, and assault offences, while a 20-year-old from Kurunjang was also charged with murder related to the incident. The recent arrests involve a 22-year-old from Roxburgh Park and a 21-year-old from Campbellfield, both of whom were taken into custody and questioned by police.
These men now face multiple charges linked to Carlson’s death, as well as unrelated offences. Specific charges include affray, intentional injury, attempted robbery, and failure to provide a PIN code. During police operations at a property in Campbellfield, officers allegedly discovered drugs, ammunition, stolen items, and fireworks, resulting in additional drug and weapon charges for the Campbellfield man, who was also accused of breaching bail conditions.
Carlson was reportedly treated by paramedics on Chapel Street for his grave injuries but tragically succumbed while en route to the hospital. He was attacked outside the Electric Nightclub, where it is believed those involved were familiar with each other.
Both charged individuals are scheduled to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, with one man set for a hearing today and the other bailed to face court tomorrow. The police investigation is ongoing, and detectives urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses any relevant footage to come forward.
