In the early hours of the morning, a police pursuit in south-west Sydney ended in a serious collision. Around 12:15 am, officers were chasing a black Mazda along Elizabeth Drive in Bonnyrigg when their police vehicle struck a white sedan at the intersection of Cabramatta Road West. Notably, the sedan was not involved in the ongoing chase.
The impact resulted in injuries, prompting emergency services to transport three individuals to the hospital. The driver of the sedan, a 35-year-old man, reported neck and back pain, while two police officers sustained minor injuries during the incident.
In line with protocol, the police officer behind the wheel will undergo mandatory testing. Authorities have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
