Two teenagers have been apprehended following a high-speed chase through the eastern suburbs of Sydney, which concluded with a stolen vehicle crashing in a quiet cul-de-sac.

The incident began shortly before 3 am when police on patrol in Kingsford attempted to pull over a black SUV on Rainbow Street. The driver failed to stop, prompting officers to pursue the vehicle as it sped through residential areas in Coogee. The chase came to an abrupt end when the SUV collided with trees at the end of Edgecumbe Avenue, resulting in significant damage.

Authorities have confirmed that the two boys, both aged 15, were arrested shortly after the crash and taken into custody for questioning. Preliminary investigations indicate that the SUV had been stolen from a residence in South Coogee the previous Friday, on April 24.

The vehicle has been impounded by police for forensic analysis. In light of the incident, officials are appealing for anyone with information or surveillance footage related to the chase to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.

Residents captured videos of the crash, which have circulated on social media. This incident serves as a reminder of the risks posed by stolen vehicles and the importance of community vigilance in reporting such activities.
