A woman in her 50s was rescued after sustaining injuries from a fall on a walking track at Castle Cove over the weekend. Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Willowie Road shortly before 2.30pm on Saturday.
To assist with the rescue operation, a helicopter was dispatched to the location. The sound of the chopper prompted nearby residents to take notice of the unfolding situation. The woman reportedly fell from a height of approximately three metres, leading to injuries in her legs.
The rescue team used the helicopter to winch her from the site of the accident and she was subsequently transported to Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.
