The Souled Out music festival, featuring an impressive line-up including Don Toliver, Jhene Aiko, and Vince Staples, has been cancelled just over a week before its scheduled dates. Organisers announced the disappointing news via social media, explaining that despite their efforts, the festival failed to garner sufficient support to remain financially sustainable. They noted that, like many Australian festivals, they have faced ongoing challenges within the current market.
All ticket purchasers will receive automatic refunds, though the organisers did not comment on future events. Scheduled to be Australia’s largest R&B festival, Souled Out was set to occur in Melbourne on February 22, Sydney on February 23, and Brisbane on February 28.
The cancellation comes shortly after the event had released additional VIP tickets due to high demand, and it follows a trend affecting other festivals in Australia, such as Groovin the Moo and Splendour in the Grass. In their announcement, the organisers urged festivalgoers to use their refunds to support live music and events across the country, highlighting the importance of audience engagement in sustaining the music culture.
