All lanes heading towards Melbourne on the Princes Freeway at Werribee are currently closed due to several accidents. Reports indicate that both cars have been involved in collisions and a truck has overturned near the zoo in the south-western part of the city.

Emergency services are actively managing the situation, directing vehicles back onto the freeway at the Princes Highway, either by taking Duncans Road or continuing along the Princes Highway through Point Cook and Hoppers Crossing to rejoin the freeway.

In addition to the accidents, damage to the road surface has been reported, and repairs are in progress. Vic Traffic has stated that police are overseeing the closure. All northbound lanes will remain closed until the investigation is completed and it is deemed safe for reopening.

Motorists are advised to expect significant delays that could extend as far as Little River.

This is a developing story, and further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
