A strike force has been formed to investigate the tragic death of a 38-year-old woman found critically injured in a Randwick unit, located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, over the weekend. Emergency services were alerted around 7.40am on Saturday due to concerns for her welfare. Upon arrival, police from the Eastern Beaches Police Area Command discovered the woman with severe lacerations to her arm.
She received urgent medical attention from NSW Ambulance paramedics and was subsequently transported to St Vincent’s Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day. Authorities have questioned a 44-year-old man, known to the victim, at the scene; he was later taken to Maroubra Police Station to assist with the ongoing investigation. However, he has since been released without facing any charges, and no arrests have been made at this stage.
Detectives from Strike Force Lyndoch are probing the circumstances surrounding the woman’s injuries. They are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact the Eastern Beaches Police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
