Mushroom Poisoner Erin Patterson Convicted of Triple Murder and Attempted Murder

Erin Patterson, a cook known for her mushroom dishes, has been convicted of three murders and one attempted murder in relation to a fatal lunch involving beef Wellington that garnered international attention in 2023.

After intense deliberation spanning a week, a jury of twelve reached a unanimous decision this afternoon, finding Patterson guilty of killing her in-laws, Don and Gail Patterson, both aged 70, along with Gail’s sister, Heather Wilkinson, who was 66. Additionally, the jury found her guilty of attempting to murder Ian Wilkinson, Gail’s brother.

Patterson pleaded not guilty to all charges throughout the trial, which lasted a considerable 10 weeks. This shocking case has captured media interest worldwide, sparking discussions and features in various international podcasts.

The tragic incident occurred in July 2023 when medical professionals confirmed that all three victims succumbed to poisoning from death cap mushrooms after partaking in a meal prepared by Patterson at her residence.
