Man Wields Machete to Smash Car in Road Rage Incident in Sydney’s West

Police in western Sydney are seeking dashcam footage following a concerning road rage incident that was captured on video. The alarming footage shows a man armed with a machete confronting a ute’s driver at the intersection of Glossop Street and the Great Western Highway in St Mary’s around 5pm yesterday. The man struck the Toyota Hilux’s window and damaged a side mirror before returning to his Honda Civic.

A passenger in a nearby vehicle recorded the incident and expressed her shock, stating, “Oh my god,” as events unfolded. She later revealed to 9News her fear as the man approached the ute, believing that something serious would occur. Despite the frightening situation, the driver of the Hilux was unharmed.

Authorities have contacted the ute’s driver, while the individual wielding the machete is now in police custody. The motives behind the attack remain unclear, prompting Nepean police to call on additional witnesses and those with dashcam footage to assist in their investigation.
