On March 14, 2022, the body of 49-year-old Jamie Colgan was discovered with numerous stab wounds inside a unit on Middleton Road in Lumeah. Tragically, Colgan’s remains were found wrapped in a carpet.
Following this grim discovery, authorities initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. Recently, in an important development, New South Wales detectives travelled to Rockhampton, Queensland, to apprehend a 30-year-old male suspect.
The suspect appeared in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court, where extradition proceedings were approved. Subsequently, he was escorted to Sydney, where he was formally charged with murder at Mascot police station. During his court appearance at Downing Centre Local Court, he was denied bail.
