A 51-year-old man has been charged following a series of incidents that began at a petrol station in Sydney and culminated on the M4 motorway. The events unfolded when the man allegedly stole a Mitre 10 truck from a car park in Austral. As he drove the stolen vehicle, police attempted to pull him over, but he refused to stop, which led to a police chase from Luddenham to Emu Plains.

The pursuit came to an end when the man became ensnared in heavy traffic on the M4 at Prospect. He was apprehended at the scene and subsequently taken to hospital for treatment, where he is currently under police supervision.

Law enforcement has charged the man with failing to obey police directions and driving without a licence. Bail has been denied, and he is expected to make a court appearance via bedside hearing later today.
