A recent product recall has been issued for children’s necklaces and rings that pose a serious risk to health, potentially leading to severe injury or even death within hours. The items in question—a plastic necklace featuring flashing lights and two rings, one decorated with Santa Claus—contain button batteries that are not securely enclosed, failing to meet safety standards according to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

The recall highlights the alarming danger posed by these button batteries, which can lead to choking, significant internal burns, or fatal injuries if ingested by children. The ACCC warns that life-threatening incidents can occur in as little as two hours. Furthermore, these products lack adequate safety warnings, heightening the risk for young users.

These hazardous items were sold at Fantastic Discount in Newton Gardens, Adelaide, by Pacific Wholesalers Australia between November 3 and December 15 of the previous year. Parents and guardians who purchased these products are urged to cease use immediately and return them to the supplier for a refund.

For any concerns or inquiries, customers can reach Pacific Wholesalers by phone at 03 9555 4328 or via email at pacificwholesaler@hotmail.com.
