Authorities are currently at the scene of a collision on the Western Highway in Armstrong, situated approximately 200 kilometres west of Melbourne. The highway has been closed to traffic in both directions between Ararat and Great Western due to the incident.
Motorists are being advised to take alternative routes through Moyston by using the Ararat-Halls Gap Road and the Moyston-Great Western Road. This detour will increase the distance of journeys by around 20 kilometres, so drivers should factor in additional travel time.
The closure of the highway is anticipated to last for the majority of the day.
