Last Individual Taken Into Custody Following Melbourne Shopping Centre Brawl

A seventh individual has been apprehended in connection with a violent machete incident that caused a lockdown at Northland Shopping Centre in Preston, Melbourne. The police reported that the altercation occurred on Sunday afternoon and involved rival youth gangs, leading to a premeditated confrontation.

Among those implicated, three individuals were taken to hospital due to injuries sustained during the fight. Prior to the latest arrest, six others had already faced charges, with authorities actively pursuing one additional suspect. The newest suspect, an 18-year-old man from Thornhill Park, was arrested last night and faces charges of affray and weapons-related offences.

Currently in custody, he is scheduled to appear in court later today. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that they confiscated three edged weapons during their investigations. The individuals arrested range in age from 15 to 21 and are all known to the police, remaining involved in ongoing court proceedings.
