In a dramatic overnight incident, two residents successfully escaped a significant fire that engulfed a house in Baulkham Hills, located in Sydney’s north-west. The fire erupted around 10.30pm at a rented property on Cameron Avenue, and by the time firefighters arrived, the building was already fully ablaze.
Fire crews worked diligently for over an hour to bring the raging inferno under control, but tragically, the home was ultimately destroyed in the process. Thankfully, the two individuals residing there emerged unscathed from the ordeal.
While the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, investigators are considering the possibility that it may have been ignited by an indoor log fire. Firefighters are taking this opportunity to remind the public of the importance of having functional smoke alarms, especially as winter is known to see an increase in house fires.
