Ange Postecoglou has responded to the “hysteria” surrounding Tottenham Hotspur following a significant Premier League victory over Ipswich Town. The manager faced intense scrutiny earlier this month after the team was eliminated from both the FA Cup and League Cup. However, they bounced back with a commanding 4-1 win against Ipswich, featuring a standout performance from Brennan Johnson, who netted two goals.
Despite this success, Tottenham remains in 12th place in the EPL, just three wins shy of seventh-placed Aston Villa but with a game in hand. Postecoglou addressed concerns regarding the team’s recent struggles and discussions of a potential relegation battle. He dismissed the notion of safety given the league’s competitive nature, emphasising that while results had not reflected their efforts, the players remained committed.
Postecoglou highlighted the need to change their current position in the league, acknowledging that while their current standing is unsatisfactory, upcoming matches — including a key fixture against reigning champions Manchester City — present an opportunity to improve their fortunes. Meanwhile, Ipswich now sits in 18th position, facing the threat of relegation.
