Cement Truck Accident Claims Life of Driver on Melbourne Freeway

A tragic accident on the Eastern Freeway in Balwyn North, Melbourne, resulted in the death of a cement truck driver this afternoon. According to police reports, the incident occurred around 2.30pm when the truck collided with a concrete barrier close to the Bulleen Road off-ramp, causing it to roll over.

The truck’s sole occupant, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine what exactly led to the incident.

In the aftermath of the accident, motorists have been advised to anticipate significant delays, particularly as the outbound exit to Bulleen Road will remain closed for an extended period. Additionally, Thompson Road, which runs between Bulleen Road and the Eastern Freeway, is also experiencing complete closure.
