Two men are set to appear in court following charges related to antisemitic graffiti and vehicle arson in Sydney’s eastern suburbs last month. On January 17, two cars were deliberately set ablaze on Military Road, Dover Heights. This incident was preceded by vandalism on January 11, where five vehicles and two homes were defaced with antisemitic symbols on Henry Street, Queens Park.
One of the accused, a 37-year-old man, was arrested yesterday for his role in the car fires at Dover Heights. Along with a 33-year-old companion, he faces charges connected to the graffiti incidents in Queens Park. Notably, the two men were already in custody at the time of their charges.
Both suspects are currently remanded and scheduled for a court appearance on April 3. The recent incidents have drawn attention to rising antisemitic acts, prompting discussions on community safety and the need for effective measures against hate crimes.
