Police in Melbourne have released CCTV footage as part of their investigation into an attempted kidnapping that occurred earlier this week. The incident took place on Wednesday night around 9:15 PM when a 20-year-old woman was walking along Thames Boulevard after disembarking from a bus in Tarneit.
As she made her way home, a man approached her and attempted to drag her towards the road. Fortunately, CCTV footage recorded the struggle, which included the woman’s screams. In a brave act, the woman managed to free herself from the attacker, sustaining no physical injuries during the ordeal.
Following the attempted abduction, the suspect fled southward towards Melpomene Boulevard. Descriptions from witnesses indicate that he is likely in his late teens or early twenties, approximately 160 cm tall, with a slim build and short dark hair.
Authorities are particularly interested in speaking with the driver of a dark-coloured 4WD vehicle that was in the vicinity at the time of the incident. They are appealing to the public for any information or assistance that could aid their investigation into this alarming event. Police have urged anyone with relevant details to come forward.
