Police are currently probing a shooting incident that occurred early this morning in Merrylands, located in Sydney’s south-west. Officers were dispatched to Crossland Street around 3:25 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered that multiple shots had been directed at a residential property; fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
A crime scene was promptly established at the affected home. Shortly after the shooting, police received another call regarding a vehicle fire on Chiswick Street, South Granville. Responding officers found three vehicles completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters attended to the blaze but were unable to save any of the vehicles, resulting in total destruction.
Authorities believe that the two events are connected, leading to the establishment of a second crime scene related to the vehicle fire. The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding these incidents.
