A small aircraft has crashed in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, close to a retirement community in the north-eastern United States, according to local officials. The incident occurred on Sunday, and emergency services are currently on the scene, although police have not provided details regarding any injuries or fatalities. Multiple ambulances have been dispatched to assist.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed that five individuals were aboard the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza at the time of the crash. Additionally, the FAA will be investigating the incident, which follows a series of recent plane crashes nationwide, including a significant midair collision back in January.

The plane took off from Lancaster Airport, located just north of the crash site, with a destination of Springfield, Ohio, as per information from flight tracking service FlightAware.

Pennsylvania’s State Police are on-site to support local emergency responders, with Governor Josh Shapiro announcing via social media that all state resources are available to assist in the ongoing response efforts.

This is an unfolding situation, and further updates are anticipated.
