The 2027 Netball World Cup will be exclusively aired on Nine following a significant five-year broadcasting agreement with Netball Australia, set to commence in January. This deal encompasses live coverage of all Super Netball events, matches featuring the Australian Diamonds, and the World Cup, which will take place in Sydney.

Fans can look forward to enjoying live matches on platforms such as 9Now and Stan Sport. In addition, select Super Netball games, including finals, all Diamonds encounters, and pivotal World Cup games will be accessible via free-to-air on the 9Network.

Netball Australia chair Liz Ellis expressed enthusiasm for the new deal, highlighting its potential to elevate the sport’s visibility. She noted that it provides young boys and girls with role models in netball, showcasing the sport on a prestigious platform. With Super Netball now recognised as the most attended women’s sport in Australia, the World Cup in Sydney will feature top international teams competing live on Nine.

Nine, the original broadcaster of Super Netball a decade ago, rejoins the league as a partner to present the world’s premier netball talent. Stacey West, CEO of Netball Australia, mentioned the strong demand from fans for increased netball content, emphasising the significance of the sport across Australia.

“This sport matters to fans across our country and offers opportunities for shared experiences that strengthen community ties,” she said. Amanda Laing, managing director of Nine Group’s streaming and broadcast, noted that netball’s inclusion further enriches their portfolio of sports that resonate deeply with Australians, emphasizing its integration within schools and local communities.

This new partnership reinforces Nine’s commitment to promoting women’s sports, positioning netball alongside other significant competitions such as the WTA Tour, NRLW, WNBL, and women’s rugby, among others. The agreement is set to enhance the profile of netball in Australia, making it a focal point for sports enthusiasts across the nation.
