A rescue operation is currently in progress after a teenage boy was reportedly swept off rocks and drawn into a dangerous blowhole in the northern region of Sydney. Emergency services received a call around 1.15pm after a bystander heard cries for help near the Warriewood blowhole and contacted Triple Zero.

According to reports from 9News, the boy, who is in his early teens, was playing near the rocky area when he was unexpectedly knocked into the turbulent waters below. Rescuers have successfully scaled a steep cliff to reach him at the base of a cave, where he is receiving treatment for several injuries, including cuts to his legs and a head injury.

Authorities are preparing to winch the boy to safety from the cave shortly. The situation highlights the inherent dangers of natural coastal features, and emergency services urge the public to exercise caution in such areas.
