The NRL’s final weekend of pre-season trials is set to unfold ahead of the season launch in Las Vegas, with several prominent players expected to participate. Notably, Cronulla, Canberra, and the Warriors are taking a break before heading to the USA.
Key matches this weekend include Manly Sea Eagles facing the Penrith Panthers on Friday evening at Leichhardt Oval. Manly is resting some star players, while the Panthers are sending a largely inexperienced squad as they prepare for the trip to Las Vegas.
Also on Friday, the Wests Tigers will host the Parramatta Eels at 8pm. The Tigers will see Adam Doueihi returning as halfback, while Parramatta introduces Zac Lomax, yet their star halves won’t appear.
On Saturday, St George Illawarra Dragons will battle the South Sydney Rabbitohs, with Latrell Mitchell featuring for the Rabbitohs. Meanwhile, the Broncos will face the Bulldogs, and the Dolphins will take on the Titans at Redcliffe, showcasing several key players returning from injury.
Sunday will see the Sydney Roosters compete against the Newcastle Knights, with both sides fielding strong line-ups, and the Storm facing off against the Cowboys at Casey Fields, where Cameron Munster and Harry Grant will make their first appearances of the year.
