AFL fans will need to budget for an increase in ticket prices for this year’s Grand Final, with the cost of the cheapest reserved seat rising to $195 following the end of a six-year price freeze. This adjustment reflects an average increase of four per cent across most ticket categories, although entry-level prices for the initial three weeks of the Finals Series will remain unchanged – $25 for the first two weeks and $65 for the third.

Bec Haagsma, the AFL Executive General Manager of Customer and Commercial, explained that this pricing restructure aims to address escalating costs while remaining committed to offering affordable finals tickets to fans and members who consistently support their clubs in high numbers.

While the price of the most expensive Grand Final ticket for 2025 will rise to $515, up from $493 in 2024, a significant portion of tickets—75,000 in total—will be distributed among AFL members, MCC members, and club members of the two finalist teams. About 35,000 tickets will be evenly shared between the club members of the competing teams.

Haagsma highlighted that the ten-year price freeze for the preliminary finals remains unique in Australian sport, emphasizing the popularity and demand surrounding the Grand Final. When tickets are released in September, priority will be given to members of the two competing teams, ensuring they receive the largest allocation.

The 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final is scheduled to take place at the MCG on 27 September at 2:30 PM, underscoring its status as one of the most significant sporting events in the world, with enthusiasm high enough to sell out the 100,000-seat venue multiple times over.
