Child Missing Following House Fire in Queensland

A tragic house fire in Harristown, Toowoomba, Queensland, has left one child missing and three individuals fighting for their lives. The fire erupted around 12:30 am at a residence on Merritt Street, and by the time emergency services arrived, the home was completely engulfed in flames.

The blaze has since been extinguished, but its aftermath is dire. Six occupants successfully evacuated the premises, including a 34-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, along with four children. Unfortunately, the woman and two of the children have sustained critical injuries and are currently receiving hospital treatment. The man is also hospitalised with serious injuries.

Adding to the distress, a fifth child living at the property is unaccounted for. As investigations begin to ascertain the cause of this devastating fire, authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in their inquiries, urging anyone with relevant details to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
