The family of five-year-old Sharon Granites, who went missing in the Northern Territory, has made an emotional plea for her safe return as searches enter their fifth day. Sharon was last seen on Saturday night at a campsite in Old Timers Camp, where she had been staying with her mother. She was reportedly last seen holding hands with Jefferson Lewis around 11.30 pm, with authorities believing he played a role in her disappearance.

Sharon’s grandfather, Robin, shared his distress, expressing that the family is praying for her return and asking the public to keep her in their thoughts. He learned of his granddaughter’s abduction while attending a nearby Anzac Day memorial, saying he was heartbroken upon hearing the news. Robin described Sharon as a sweet, quiet girl and issued a heartfelt request to Lewis, urging him to return Sharon safely, highlighting her vulnerability due to communication difficulties.

Lewis, who had been released from prison just days before Sharon’s disappearance and has a history of violent offences, remains a person of interest in the case. Recent police findings included clothing items near the riverbank at the campsite, including a shirt and doona cover linked to Lewis, further heightening concerns.

The local community has rallied together in the search, with many residents participating in the effort to locate Sharon. Northern Territory MP Robyn Lambley noted the commitment of the community, noting that everyone is focused on finding her. The police investigation has widened, now reaching out to Western Australia to seek information from Lewis’s family.

As the search continues, the public is urged to report any sightings of Sharon and Lewis immediately. The investigation remains active, with authorities exploring all leads in hopes of uncovering the whereabouts of the missing child.
