This morning, a driverless metro train was operating between Chatswood Station just before 8am when an incident occurred involving a malfunctioning door on a crowded carriage. The door remained open, prompting two individuals dressed in black to stand in front of it, effectively preventing commuters from approaching.
A sign displayed above the door indicated that it was out of service, adding to the confusion for passengers.
Since its launch in 2019, Sydney Metro has been a key transport system, connecting Tallawong to Sydenham with a total of 21 stations along the route. The metro is known for its impressive speeds, reaching up to 100 km/h in tunnel sections and up to 110 km/h on surface tracks.
In response to the situation, 9news.com.au has reached out to Sydney Metro for further clarification.
