Authorities in the Northern Territory are actively investigating the suspected abduction of a five-year-old girl named Sharon, who went missing from her home in Alice Springs. The child was last seen at approximately 11:30 PM on Saturday when she was put to bed by her family at their residence on Marshall Court in Old Timers Camp.
At around 1:30 AM the following morning, Sharon was reported missing, prompting police to launch extensive search operations in the area. Despite their efforts, they have yet to locate her. Police believe she may have been abducted and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
In connection with this investigation, authorities are seeking to speak with 47-year-old Jefferson Lewis, who is thought to have been present in the area around the time of Sharon’s disappearance. Acting Commander Mark Grieve confirmed that Lewis is one of the few individuals who was in Old Timers Camp at the time and has not yet made himself known to police.
Sharon was last seen wearing a dark blue short-sleeve T-shirt adorned with white stripes around the neck and sleeves, coupled with black boxer-style underwear. Police have described the search efforts as comprehensive, yet they continue to seek public assistance to gather more information. They emphasise the urgency of locating both the young girl and Mr. Lewis.
Anyone who has seen Lewis or has any pertinent information regarding the case is encouraged to contact authorities at 131 444. The community’s help is critical during this investigation as the search for Sharon continues.
