A 31-year-old man from Thornlie has been charged with multiple offences following a tense incident at Crown Casino in Perth, where he allegedly pointed a gun-like object at another vehicle. The event unfolded around 10 am on Teddington Road in Burswood, approximately three kilometres from the CBD, when police received reports of a firearm being brandished from a white station sedan towards another driver.

The vehicle fitting the description was later spotted entering the casino car park, leading to two men exiting the car and entering the casino. Armed police swiftly intervened, apprehending the pair on the casino floor as dramatic bodycam footage captured the unfolding scene. Notably, no actual firearm was discovered inside the casino during this operation.

Later, during a search of the casino’s food court toilets, police uncovered a novelty cigarette lighter that resembled a firearm. The charges against the man include being armed in a manner that may instil fear, being armed in or around an entertainment venue, and possessing drug paraphernalia and prohibited substances. He has been granted bail and is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on May 22. The other individual involved, who is in his 40s, was released without facing any charges.
